How do I sign up for your services?

You can sign up on-line via our Website or our Facebook Page or you can simply visit us at any one of our locations. After simply filling out our sign-up form you will then immediately receive an e-mail response with your account information indicating your personal Tropical Express SkyBox and SeaBox address including your personal mailbox/ account number. With this you can start shopping on-line right away! Membership would be billed on your first shipment.

What is the minimum weight or size that I can ship?

You can receive packages of just about any size through our SkyBox and SeaBox Service. With our SeaBox Service you can bring in larger items such as furniture and larger appliances for cheaper. Through this service there is a 25lb. actual weight minimum requirement. Large items that we often ship for our customers include computers, electronics, car parts, ready-to-assemble furniture, toys, etc. (Please ensure that all shipments are packaged properly as we will not accept liability for damage to goods due to improper packaging.)

How long does it take to receive my package?

For our SkyBox Service, packages that are received at our Miami facility are sent to Trinidad within 24-48 hours of receiving, are cleared on arrival, processed, transported to their areas and are sorted; in all your package would be ready for pick-up in about 4 days. SeaBox ships via ocean which usually takes 15-18 days/ 2-3 weeks to get to Trinidad. It usually takes 7 days on the water and 3-5 days to unstuff, clear customs and be ready for pick-up.

Can I track my package(s)? How will I know my package has reached my mailbox?

Yes, you can track your packages on our Website or Facebook Page at any time by using your Tropical Express box number. Tropical Express would send the customer e-mail notifications/ pre-alerts when the package has reached Miami, when it’s in transit to Trinidad and when it is ready for pick-up. You can then proceed to your pickup location either Port of Spain, Trincity, San Fernando or UWI St. Augustine Campus. At any point in time via our Website or our Facebook Page you can check the status of your package whether it is processing in Miami, in-transit to Trinidad, if it’s processing in Trinidad and finally if it’s ready for pick-up. You can also call or visit our stores to make any inquiries.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept cash (US$ or TT$), payment by LINX or credit card.

Can I drop off items at the Miami address to be sent through my mailbox?

Yes, our customers can drop off packages at our warehouse in Miami, to be shipped via your box to Trinidad. The shipper will be given a Warehouse Receipt (WR#) upon tendering cargo to us on your behalf. Our operating hours in Miami are 8AM – 4PM (Miami Time) Monday -Friday. Is there anything that I cannot receive through my mailbox?

Items considered to be Dangerous Goods by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) will be put on hold in Miami and will not be sent until we receive further instructions from you and all appropriate paper work has been filed and fees paid if possible.

Items that are considered Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) by the FAA will be put on hold in Miami and will not be sent until the FAA safety inspector approves the package to be safe for flight, all appropriate paper work has been filed and fees paid to the FAA inspector. We bare these costs on your behalf and will be further billed to you. If in doubt, please contact us before ordering such items.

How will I know when a package has arrived at my SkyBox address?

Tropical Express would send the customer e-mail notifications/ pre-alerts when the package has reached Miami, when it’s in transit to Trinidad, when its processing in Trinidad and when it is ready for pick-up. You can then proceed to your pickup location either Port of Spain, Trincity, San Fernando or Curepe. At any point in time via our Website or our Facebook Page you can check the status of your package whether it is processing in Miami, in-transit to Trinidad, if it’s processing in Trinidad and finally if it’s ready for pick-up.
